keep researching this black bird idea.
here's one from cavern.
that i just love.
last night i felt like adding.
more birds to the wall.
mainly to make some company.
for big eames bird.

so i did this.

and it's sitting next to this.

i just used black spray.
on a painted blue canvas.
a bird template.

this is what happened.

covered an old nude.
yeah sad.
but moving on.

changa wanted to be in the picture.
but had no clothes on.

i always.
always paint upside down.
and used dry fast.
cheap acrylic paint.

black for the bird.
of course.

hang to dry.
not sure what will replace the bird.
but for now we welcome it!!!!!

just working on some new ideas for my art show display coming up jan 18th...more information to follow on the time and location...

let me start by saying that i just want to have fun this year and don't stress anymore about what people want to buy as art but what i want to do and how to express that.......so i found this cool blog by alisa burke.....great artist, painting and sewing combined - YES!!!!!!together.....just what i love!!!!!!

so decided to start trying street stencil art and this is so far what i have on canvas (see first pic)....it is so much fun!!!!!! and def ME!!!!! the only problem is that i should clean my studio and quit working upstair in the nice carpet of the guess bedroom.......

now back at stencil art....i wanted to post this because i had screenprint before(about 7 years ago).......when i went to grad school of architecture i did all of my presentation drawings using paint and the screenprinting process!!!! i have about 30 drawings all big at least 24x30 with a little bit of pencil and paint......just wanted to represent the rough - nonsymmetrical, texture of the beautiful mountain landscape....

then when i ordered my dharma screenprint kit i wasn't sure what it was.........

but when i opened the box memories came flying back!!!!!! i had it......now i have two and i will def use it because some screen designs you want to keep forever!!!!!!

can't wait to share .........

i am so in love with the stencil effect!!! and have been researching on-line......great grafitti artist out there....but came across this wonderful book......stencil 101 by ed roth.......little projects, great stencils -even though is for personal use only and not for re-sale............i can't really wait to design couple of stencils myself stay tune...i have couple of ideas in mind.........his are so cool, so simple.........
this is how i did it......

cut the front pattern from lil blue boo pattern

then i used freezer paper to protect the back of the shirt

used fabric black paint that i bought at michael's

i added a little bit of spunk using these neon fabric colors
then put it all together....... love black and white...love the simplicity and cool modernism....

it's so hard to photograph chimi and changa...now they just want to be by the xmas tree and on top of those red chairs......

this is a little project that i finished before christmas but just now have the time to post...it is from the lilblueboo pattern and from this awesome blog.....can't wait for my twins to wear this on their number 3 birthday party!!!!

found the cool yellow muppet t-shirt at walmart for $7 and splitted in 2! use an old gray and black t-shirts from my closet......one little dress for my girl and top for my boy......then i use freezer paper and fabric 3D paint to screen the orange number 3!!!!!!

i have!!!!! i can't get enough of this style recycling old t-shirts......that i found at
lilblueboo - bought this pattern and have created so far 3 set of matching outfit!!!!

this set is very special because i had to do my very first tye-die
(wich i totally messed up) and
a robot stencil template using freezer paper
(which did not have strong crisp edges) - and
the robot girl does not have her cute hair style........
but at the end i thought they turn out perfect.......check the directions here

freezer paper Do-It-Yourself modern pillow project

let me start by saying that....this is my very first DIY project....so it has taken me the whole entire week to post and organize pictures and set up......but i thought it will be fun to do and share if you like pillows as much as i do...........ok! so the economy is bad....no money to buy new pillows when you already have a zillion ones.....but there are so many cool ones out there how could you not!!!!

then you have great inspirations from projects like this great robot stencil at lilblueboo - it seems so easy let's give it a try.........................

first what is this freezer paper.....i had no idea!!!!! went to my local craft shop they had no idea what i was talking about then i went grocery shopping and voila!!!!! there it was.......reynold's freezer paper....

i sketched the outline of the chairs and then traced it into the freezer paper.

cut out the void space.

laid all the patterns on top of the fabrics and ironed on.....

painted some black and some white with some fabric paint. i wanted to use other colors but that was all i had.

then i removed the freezer paper.

serger the corners.......insert pillow.....sew the bottom...you got yourself a brand new modern pillow!!!!!

my kids had fun with the leftover freezer paper....

it is definitely a product that i will be using over and over again.......2 finished 4 more to go....
